Whence our logo?

The honeycomb has been an obsession of mathematicians and architects for at least 2,000 years. The six-sided tubes that comprise a comb, by sharing walls between them, which only triangular or square tubes can also accomplish, use less wax for the volume of honey: 18% less than triangular tubes, 7% less than square tubes. Moreover, each tube ends in three rhombuses that come to a point like a pencil cut with only three knife strokes. The 70° and 110° corner angles of these end walls yield the maximum volume for the configuration.

The honeycomb element of our logo symbolizes the emphasis of our business improvement philosophy on helping client companies get the most out of the information they have. The “i” to left of the black box signifies low information content data, the exponential curve the data′s transformation into high information content knowledge. Filled in, the box takes on the hexagon shape of the honeycomb, epitomizing our minimalist philosophy of doing as much as possible, as well as possible, with as little as possible.
